Shiseido Travel Retail has pinpointed the key areas of focus to drive its future in travel retail, with an emphasis on science, personalisation and self-care beauty solutions that cater to evolving consumer needs.

DFNI joined Pamela Shee, Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, Fran law, Vice President, Commercial and Business Development, Travel Retail Asia Pacific and Tatsuya Nagai, Vice President, Travel Retail Japan for the Shiseido Beauty in Motion Trends Briefing during the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition held in Singapore last week (10-15 May).

As reported, Shiseido recently combined its travel retail and China divisions into one reporting segment. During the briefing, Law explained the move, calling it a decisive decision to better serve Chinese consumers, its key customer base, and travellers.

Law stated: "The reorganisation [enhances our] transparency and knowledge sharing, helping us to react to the market and travellers. It is our belief that this is how to achieve sustainable growth in the beauty industry."

Meanwhile, Nagai San highlighted the importance of travel retail in providing immersive retail experiences and attracting new tourists. As such, the company highlighted the latest trends in beauty, wellness and travel that are shaping its current activities in travel retail. He also identified a growing customer base from Southeast Asia, India and Europe for its brands.
