On the Queer press tour , we got to see a new Daniel Craig: softer, vulnerable, a bit more undone. It's the opposite of his 15-year James Bond gig, and it allowed the actor to shut the door on the short-back-and-sides, single-breasted spy suits vibe, for something looser and slouchier.
Case in point: For a special Milan screening of Queer at the Cinema Colosseo, the actor upped the ante on this menswear chapter.
Here, it was the same formula (big, languid, and involving some double-breasted action), but remastered. Craig swapped a suit for an Armani knee-length trench, double-breasted shawl lapel waistcoat, loose shirt, and roomy tailored trousers, all made in the same charcoal silk. This was a fit for an off-duty Milanese business tycoon, who drinks small coffees in the morning and supplements his negronis with thin cigs at aperitivo hour.
Daniel Craig is always going to look good in a suit, especially when it's Giorgio Armani. But he's also comfortable remixing the classics and letting things get a bit freaky. And you should be, too.
