I'm pretty picky when it comes to mascara. Not just for the results they deliver but also because my eyes are so sensitive they'll react to just about anything. And when I find a formula that doesn't cause irritation, I'm after a dramatic, high-impact look that doesn't flake or leave me looking like a panda after a few hours.
After years of testing products—perks of the job—I've found a few absolute gems that actually do the job. And naturally, I use them until there's no morsel left in the tube, to save my money.
And when it launched coloured versions, alongside its classic black, I had to get my hands on them. Initially dropping burgundy haze, electric blue, and bright pink - I opted for the less daring burgundy for my hazel eyes - Maybelline has now introduced Green Altitude , Plum Twilight , and True Brown shades (alongside silver and gold).

Arriving in the same shimmering tube that's unmistakably Maybelline Sky High , the emerald mascara features packaging that complements its green hue, as does Plum Twilight, whilst True Brown retains its signature pink casing.
Being well-acquainted with this brand and particular mascara, I anticipated the smooth application process with its Flex Tower wand that effortlessly coats every lash (including those tricky corner ones). I was also confident in the outstanding results; it consistently provides impressive length (courtesy of bamboo extract), producing the wispy, lump-free lashes I've always wanted - eliminating the need for lash curlers.
