Gerber and Alyssa Reeder launched Library Science in 2024 to uplift new and underrepresented authors
Carly Tagen-Dye is the Books editorial assistant at PEOPLE, where she writes for both print and digital platforms.
Kaia Gerber and Alyssa Reeder's Library Science book club is the place to be.
Founded in 2024, Library Science is an online reading community designed to help bookworms everywhere find their next great read. Library Science pinpoints books not "on the typical bestseller lists," according to their website, along with stories by new and underrepresented authors.
"We don't claim to be academic, we just love to read," the club's mission statement reads. "And we deeply believe that there's no downside to preaching the idea that we often learn the most from the stories that aren't our own."
Since its launch, Library Science has chosen over 60 titles across genres, from debut authors to nonfiction by the likes of Jane Fonda . Readers who want to continue the conversation can also watch Gerber's interviews with featured writers on the Library Science YouTube channel .
See below for all of Library Science's 2026 selections, so far.
