After one too many rants to my best friend about my stubby, nail-glue–covered fingers (I'm a press-on nail fiend), she finally told me to book a dip powder manicure—the nail polish upgrade basically everyone I know had already made. Dip nails, also sometimes called SNS, involves brushing on a base coat and literally dipping your nails into a finely milled, pigmented powder that doubles as the color. The payoff? A finish that's tougher than gel and somehow lasts even longer. So are there any downsides?
