New creative directors will show their first women's ready-to-wear collections at Dior, Chanel, Balenciaga, Loewe, Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier, Maison Margiela and Carven, reflecting a period of unprecedented creative upheaval amid a global slowdown in luxury spending.

Chanel is trading its morning slot on the Tuesday for an evening show on Oct. 6, the penultimate day of the shows. Matthieu Blazy will show his eagerly awaited first collection for the house at 8 p.m. at the Grand Palais.

Saint Laurent will close the first day with an 8 p.m. show and is expected to return to the Trocadéro near the Eiffel Tower, the scene of its most spectacular displays. Twickenham is surprisingly peaceful on a wet weekday morning, rain tapping gently on its fold-down plastic seats. Come September, this lauded rugby ground will feel very different. Around 80,000 fans are expected to pack the stands for the Women's Rugby World Cup final – the largest crowd ever to watch a women's rugby match, and a sparkling climax in a golden summer for women's sport.

The team tipped to bring home rugby's biggest prize? They're clack-clack-clacking towards me through the tunnel right now, studded boots echoing on concrete: England's Red Roses, ready for their Vogue debut.

At the helm is newly crowned captain Zoe Aldcroft; gap-toothed, with head-girl charisma and a warm Scarborough accent. "The nerves do kick in every now and then," the 28-year-old admits, especially being here. "But that's a good thing to help us get ramped up for the biggest tournament of our lives."

She's not exaggerating. This year's competition isn't just about the trophy – it's a reckoning for the sport. Once dismissed as just for men – with so few girls' teams that nearly every Red Rose I meet started out playing with boys – women's rugby now stands at a cultural tipping point. A Sofia Coppola Documentary On Marc Jacobs To Premiere In Star-studded 2025 Venice Film Festival

MILAN — There's no doubt fashion will play a big role in the upcoming edition of the Venice International Film Festival , running Aug. 27 to Sept. 6.

Not only is the event expected to serve major red carpet momentary, but a documentary on Marc Jacobs directed by no less than Sofia Coppola is to be presented as part of the out-of-competition section of the event.

Named "Marc by Sofia," the 97-minute film will retrace the designer's work and the long-standing friendship between the two and promises to feature plenty of archival footage, including those tracing to the 1994 guerrilla-style sidewalk fashion show Coppola and Spike Jonze staged in New York outside the Marc Jacobs show venue for the brand X-girl by Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon and stylist Daisy Von Furth.

Leading directors ranging from Guillermo del Toro, Yorgos Lanthimos, Gus Van Sant and Jim Jarmusch to Kathryn Bigelow, Paolo Sorrentino and Luca Guadagnino are all slated to touch base at Venice's landmark Lido flanked by the respective star-packed casts and more. These will include A-list names such as Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Cate Blanchett, Al Pacino, Idris Elba, Emma Stone, Emily Blunt, Laura Dern, Adam Driver, Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield and Chloë Sevigny, just to cite a few.

As revealed earlier this month, the event will open with the world premiere of "La Grazia," the new movie directed by Academy Award-winning director Paolo Sorrentino, whose synopsis is kept under wraps but promises to center on a love story set in Italy.
